Mexico
35mm film - The transmission cooler and the jungle
In southern Mexico driving through some muddy backroads a large stick off a fallen tree came up and broke the transmission cooler off, pumping 3/4 of the trans oil out. I got it piped back into the radiator like stock and we found a camp spot, then slowly limped the truck down the shoulder the next day until we found somewhere that sells oil.
Probably the best spot of the whole trip
3 days here. These dunes ran straight into the ocean. What can I say? This was one of the most spectacular spots period.

Climbing the sand dunes

Waterfall in Chiapas
Chiapas is mountainous, this was a nice short waterfall hike.
Baja California
Baja was one of the most free and diverse places of the trip. Overlanding heaven.
Baja California - Bosque mountains
A dirt road leads through these beautiful mountains to the inner portion of southern Baja. Many people don't know these kind of places exist in Baja
200km's of Desert
This was another big highlight. In Baja this sand track often used for races is 200km's of pure desert. Took me 8 hours.
Welcome to Chiapas
Tent view
Of that great camp spot. I had at this point broken 2 phones and couldn't justify buying a good one. The camera quality is terrible! Doesn't take away from the memories
Ruined bridge
Google maps is terrible in central America, they mostly use Waze here. It told us this road went to the other side. We decided to just camp here.

Dunes Dunes Dunes
Alternative to Bacalar
This lagoon is just beside Bacalar, we didn't want to pay to the high tourist prices so we started driving on a gravel road looking for a spot. The man who owned this land and was planning to develop it told us we could camp here. 2 nights.
Chiapas
So many little sand flies up here. It would be the start of the sand fly countries (talking about you Belize).
Chiapas Waterfall
Another little waterfall hike with a cave the water comes out of. We took a quick dip but it was FREEZING.
The best spot on 35mm film
Film looks cooler

Where's my shoe bag Nikki?
It got really windy here and the tent shoe bag vanished.
Michelin star
Undoubtedly cooking something good
Vince
Vince decided to learn to climb trees, semi successful
Beach spot
This was a good spot from Puerto Escondido for beach camping and swimming
Familiar view
I spent a month in Puerto Escondido volunteering at a hostel, when all was said and done it was time to do some maintenance. The heater core t-fitting broke and was leaking
Green waters
Great spot for a day with good friends! I speared a fish here in like 3ft visibility water. It was so murky I felt seasick from swimming.
